Kyndl: Music with Purpose and Perspective

Soulful storytelling meets hip-hop grit, from the Far Eastside of Indianapolis to the world stage.

Kyndl (pronounced “kindle”), is a multi-talented singer/songwriter, and hip-hop artist hailing from the Far Eastside of Indianapolis. Known for her raw storytelling, soulful melodies and hip-hop grit, her music reflects personal growth, authenticity and evolution.

She first gained attention in 2018 as ameriKKKen through viral freestyles, which earned her early co-signs from artists such as Trinidad James, Danny Brown, Westside Boogie and Denzel Curry. In 2019, she organized and headlined her own sold-out show to debut her first project, “KHAOTIC,” while still a college student. That same year, she appeared on Netflix’s Rhythm + Flow, solidifying her presence in both the local and national music scenes.

After graduating from Ball State University with a degree in Telecommunications (Audio Production) in 2020, she released two follow-up projects, KAPPED and KORON, before briefly relocating to Atlanta to further explore her artistry. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she embraced both personal and artistic transformation, prompting her name change to Kyndl.

Since then, Kyndl has built a discography across both names that spans multiple projects and singles, as well as collaborations with artists locally and beyond. She has performed alongside Benny the Butcher, Talib Kweli, 9th Wonder and Jordan Ward at Indianapolis’ own Chreece festival, and opened for Midwxst. Her presence has also reached local airwaves through performances on FOX 59 and WFYI, an affiliate of National Public Radio (NPR), and she has graced stages at high-traffic events such as the Indiana State Fair.

With over 20 performances across festivals, television and live events, Kyndl has captivated audiences through introspective storytelling that invites listeners into her world. Today she continues to share her journey with renewed passion, inspiring others through music that bridges faith, healing and artistry.

“[Kyndl] says her optimistic approach to life – turning negatives into positives – was shaped while growing up on Indianapolis’ far Eastside, an area caught between a sharp confluence of constructive and destructive forces.”
